Quick-claim settlements at delivery
Published information from the DP3 claims rules — every figure cited on the deadlines reference.
The published cap: $2,000, flat
The DP3 business rules provide for settling minor loss or damage in person at delivery, for an aggregate amount not to exceed $2,000 per shipment, with full payment within 5 calendar days of delivery. The cap is flat — older guidance citing $1,000 or $1,500 reflects earlier vintages of the program.
What a quick claim releases — and what it does not
The published rule is that items settled by quick claim are excluded from any later claim, while other items remain claimable. Loss or damage discovered after delivery can still be claimed within the normal windows, and the rules allow multiple claims for the same shipment.
The normal windows still apply to everything else
A quick claim does not change the published notice window (180 calendar days from delivery) or the filing window (9 or 12 months from delivery, keyed to whether pickup was before or on/after May 15, 2026) for items outside the quick-claim settlement.
What this tool does
The free calculator returns every published deadline for your shipment, dated. The packet builder formats documentation for items claimed through the normal process — item details, photos with tamper-evident fingerprints, and paste-ready text you review, adopt, and file yourself.
