How every rule on this site is verified

Primary sources only

Every rule is checked against the governing documents themselves — the DP3 Tender of Service, the Defense Transportation Regulation, and the DP3 Claims and Liability Business Rules — not against blog posts or secondhand summaries. DoD-published fact sheets are used as verification of those documents, not as a substitute for them.

Every rule carries its citation

Each rule in the ruleset stores the IDs of the sources it was verified against, with retrieval dates. The deadlines reference page and the calculator render from the same ruleset — there is exactly one copy of every rule.

Unverified rules are labeled, and never ship in documents

A rule that cannot be traced to a primary source renders with a "verify with your transportation office" caveat and is excluded from generated documents. The current ruleset has zero unverified rules.

Rules are versioned with effective-date forks

When a regulation changes, the old rule is not overwritten — a new variant is added with its effective date, so shipments picked up under the old rule still get the old rule. Boundary dates are unit-tested.

Figures that cannot be verified are removed

Where widely repeated figures could not be found in any current governing document, they were removed rather than shipped. The corrections page records each removal and the search that justified it.
